Experience

 Experience

For your first appointment, please be prepared to experience 2 hours of fact finding information, sharing, and discussion of your current state of health.

After an introduction to the staff, you will be seated in a comfortably appointed treatment room. Our hygienist will ask questions, listen to you, and discuss with you your needs and expectations. A complete set of diagnostic x-ray (radiographs) films might be made based on your needs. A comprehensive periodontal examination including measurements and the charting of existing conditions including photographs will follow. Then we will review with you what we observed by touring the inside of your mouth with an intraoral video camera, a very educational tool for both clinical staff and patient. The doctor will then perform a head and neck exam, including jaw joints, oral cancer screening and review of earlier findings.

As a new patient, you need not be embarrassed and is encouraged to ask any questions of the doctor or staff. We will inform you what we are doing at all times, before or during treatment, so that there are no surprises.

Our staff works very closes with top specialists and laboratories in and out of the area in an interdisciplinary system, to exceed your expectations of what a dental office should be in every way possible.

We do take such a comprehensive approach with our patients, however if you are a potential new patient with an immediate concern, we may try to arrange for an emergency visit for a temporary fix of your problem. We will then follow this up with the thorough comprehensive examination mentioned above. If scheduling an emergency appointment does not work for your schedule, seeking help elsewhere and returning to our office to establish a more comprehensive care plan might be the best option.

Your new patient experience involves clearly establishing the condition of your oral health, so that together we can make the best decisions regarding your dental treatments and long term oral health.
